Event: 50th Anniversary Potluck BBQ

Location: Miwok Park, 2200 Novato Blvd, Novato, CA

We are excited to continue our 50th-anniversary celebration of the William James Association and the 47th-anniversary of the Prison Arts Project, also known as the Arts in Corrections. We invite you and your family to join us for a Potluck Picnic/BBQ at Miwok Park, Novato, CA, to mark this important milestone.

Please take a look at the event details in the attached flyer. To RSVP, please complete the survey by September 18, 2024, at 10 p.m. Your response will help us ensure we have enough food and beverages for everyone.

We are looking forward to spending quality time with you and your family/guests at this community-building, clean, and sober event. We aim to have a fun day filled with friendship, laughter, and joy.

What will be provided:

Hot dogs, hamburgers, impossible burgers, buns, sparkling water, salad, paper plates, bowls, napkins, utensils, condiments, a variety of games, including cornhole, horseshoes, board games, dice, dominoes, and Uno.

What to bring: 

Please bring your favorite dish to share and any games you’d like to play. We also seek volunteers who enjoy grilling and can help with event setup and clean-up.

Miwok Park offers various amenities, such as:

Shaded areas, benches, a playground, Bocce ball courts, horseshoe pits, a Miwok museum, an open grass field, public transportation, and restrooms.

Open Mic Session: 

Throughout the day, there will be an Open Mic session. You can share your poetry, short stories, songs, or artistic expression. You can also appreciate the WJA family (fellow artists, teachers, mentors) or your own family, perform a short theatrical piece, tell a joke, or even do a brief interpretive dance.
